We are planning a last minute trip to North Norkfolk, 3 nights this Feb half term. Driving from London; which town/place should we look for accommodation? What are the best things to do/see. Kids are 14 & 11. We can take the bikes.

If you like cycling then I'd head for Wells next the Sea. Lovely town for shops/eating out, park the lids could go to on their own, with space for a football kick about if that their thing, skate ramps too. Crabbing from the quayside. Cycle routes from Wells along to Holkham Hall and a set of non-road cycle routes there.

Wells is great. Holt if you don’t mind being inland a tiny bit (still really easy reach of the coast).

What does your 14 year old like doing? They might prefer Cromer where you can hire paddle boards and there’s a couple of small amusement arcades. You (the adults) won’t like it as much as Wells and Holt which are much smarter, but may be a bit boring for teenagers.

One thing you might all enjoy is the seal watching trips to Blakeney Point from Moreston Quay. These need to be booked in advance.

How far (miles, hrs) would you cycle in one outing?

I have it in my head that Wells is a nightmare to cycle in and out of (busy road bounded, steep hill).

Stiffkey ("Stookey") has a nice pub and it's easier to get to decent cycle routes from there without having to get into car first. Holkham Hall is a nice place to cycle around/near. Walsingham area is surprisingly pretty area to cycle around, too. Hilly though.

Londoners supposedly like Burnham Market: it's stuffed with pubs & sweet shops, flat, easy to cycle from there, too.

Anyway,

Cley is good for nature watching, lots of board walks out over the marshes.
