Ringwood Comp was doing very well when I last heard - quite a few going to 'oxbridge'.

The feeder schools were good when I went but that was back in the days of the ark. Nice swimming pool in ringwood though - I miss that. The market used to be much better than it is now. I remember the Framptons Mill / Waitrose area when it was a derelict cattle market and not the posh eaterie it is now . God haven't they got one of those fancy coffee shops there now??? It's all gone very posh!

yes, schools are over subscribed now and have heard of a few people renting houses just to get their kids in.

Cafe Nero,jaegar,hobbs...alas Millets has just closed, more my price range sadly.

blimey, dread to think of the rental prices there now. When I moved back, I rented for a year and they put the rent up £50pcm every 3 months .

Millets was my clothing shop of choice - it costs a lot to rent a unit in that bit though, I think it only lasted for as long as it did because it was part of a big chain. God only knows what will end up there next then!

Sorry re parking at MV - I've not been there for over a year so I'm guessing they brought the charges in then. I do remember going there and it being free once upon a time! Sorry!

Thanks so much Icod - just returned from a fab wkend. We stopped at the Rapids in Romsey on Friday - it was gr8. The kids loved it. It wasn't that busy either. Great recommendation thanks.

Our journey home involved an afternoon at The Guildford Spectrum which was well worth a visit. Bowling, soft play, ice skating which was all good fun. We didn't swim but the complex looked fantastic.

If the weather is good, and you just want to break the journey with a picnic and a run around, Old Sarum is good. It is also free unless you want to go into the inner part.
