Travelling across country can anybody recommend somewhere to stop for an hour or two to break the journey?

Many thanks

Really?? When I used to go regularly it was £4 all year round despite how long you stayed. I grew up very near to MV and my best friend and I were the first kids to try out the play areas as my friend's uncle (I think) was one of the designers.

When I left home I moved to a house that backed onto to MV and I had the two happiest dogs ever as a result

Cholderton Rare Breeds/Rabbitworld is near Salisbury. Animals, indoor play and outdoor play.

Old Sarum good for fresh air and history.

Coral Cove good - nice and clean, not like some soft play places.

Who wants shelter? Do they not want to make the dcs happy to get back in the car?

brimfull · 27/12/2007 23:43

brisk stride across salisbury plain then

coby · 27/12/2007 23:48

ggirl - are you a Ringwood girl then?

TooTickyDoves · 27/12/2007 23:48

Go looking for bustards but watch out for the tanks.

brimfull · 27/12/2007 23:49

yes

coby · 27/12/2007 23:53

me too (ex) , just use facebook to keep up on the catweasel gossip and visit my mother in Ashley Heath when I've run out of excuses to avoid.

brimfull · 27/12/2007 23:54

catweasel is in hospital I hear

coby · 27/12/2007 23:57

Yeah, odstock, not coming out apparently. Not sure what is wrong exactly but it's not good bless him. All the kids used to love him - did you grow up there? I lived there from age 7 but moved about the immediate area a fair bit. The facebook group is 'Catweseal Quacked at me' if you're ionto that sort of thing (I'm not particularly, but I was bored one night )

brimfull · 27/12/2007 23:59

No we moved her in 1991,that's really sad about catweasel. When did you move away?

coby · 28/12/2007 00:00

1995

coby · 28/12/2007 00:03

god that sounds such a long time ago! Moved back for a year around 1998-9 then a little further afield near shaftesbury for a few years. Still visit a fair bit though. Daddy in Wimborne area too

brimfull · 28/12/2007 00:03

nice place to live ,but everyone does know your business.

brimfull · 28/12/2007 00:05

did you go to the schools in r'wood

coby · 28/12/2007 00:14

geeshhhhh...not half as bad as down here in Cornwall...they know more about my business that I do .

I know people from most of the schools in Ringwood area. I went to nearly all of them at sopme point myself - parents kept divorcing / getting back together / divorcing etc etc. Everytime this happened I moved across the border (1/2 a mile) with my mum so had to change schools then we'd move back across and I'd change again. Went to Bournemouth and Poole College too. Seems that most my age have moved away...house prices ridiculous . So did you go to the ringwood schools then?

brimfull · 28/12/2007 00:19

no I was 29 when I moved here with dh.

My dd is in yr 11 and ds is in reception.

House prices are ludicrous ,we couldn't afford to buy our own house now.
