Cottage by the sea

Looking to rent a holiday cottage (just me and DP) next year in the UK. I'm looking for somewhere near the sea with a shop, pub and places to eat nearby but not overly crowded. Any recommendations please? Last year we did Pembrokeshire (Broadhaven) and found somewhere lovely where we could walk to the beach and eat locally. I've already done Whitby which was nice as we stayed in the town and could walk to lots of places. I like Southwold but that is ££. I was thinking Devon, Dorset or Cornwall but am open to suggestions. Just somewhere relaxing but not too remote from a shop/pub etc in case we don't want to drive out all the time. Thank you.

North Norfolk will have several options. Personally I prefer Blakeney over Wells.
I also like Dartmouth too.

Whitstable or Broadstairs in Kent..I love both of those

I second broadstairs - some really great places to eat.

Bridport in Dorset which is close to Lyme Regis. There are shops, cafes, pubs and a street market as well as the sea. Now I think about it, why don’t I live there?

North Berwick? Nice town with shops and places to eat and lovely beaches. I've only been in winter though so not sure how busy it gets in summer.

We are an apartment in Scarborough with stunning sea views and walks on the doorstep, a pub and a tiny cinema two doors away and a ten minute walk into town. Find us on Facebook or with Yorkshire Cottage holidays.
