We'd like to go away in the UK during the Easter holidays next year. DD will be 5 and our baby will be 1 during the Easter holidays.

We usually do the lakes in the summer. At either a holiday park or a cottage. We live in Yorkshire and will be travelling by car. We also have a spaniel that will be coming with us.

We thought about hiring a camper van and travelling a few places but not heart set on that idea.

Any ideas/ recommendations or links to great family UK holidays parks/cottages with things to do in the area would be great, thanks 😊

Darwin Forest is a lovely holiday park and it’s got an indoor pool and soft play.
There’s so much to do in the area: Heights of Abraham, Gulliver’s Kingdom, an aquarium (good for a rainy day), Chatsworth, Peak Rail….. I could go on!

Whitecliffe bay on the isle of wight is lovely and very dog friendly

Funnily enough I was going to suggest the Peak District too! Centre parcs is good too.

I wouldn't do a camper van with kids that young, there's a lot of packing up and moving around and if the weather is bad you're stuck in a confined space (with a wet dog!). I'd look at Northumberland if you like the Lake District - Alnmouth has a great beach and it's an hour on the train to Edinburgh for a day trip.

I really rate the Isle of Wight for those ages but it's a bit of a drive from Yorkshire. Mine adored going on the ferry though, makes it feel more exciting and holiday like 😆

Some great suggestions! Thank you all. Will look into them all tonight.
Good thought about being confined to a small space in the campervan, never thought of that 😆 I think we will scrap that idea until they are older!!
