Hi all

Have booked air bnb for June in location midway between salcombe and dartmouth. We'll be there sat to tues and my driving time down there will be about 3 hours.
Will have 4 year old and 2 year old boys with me plus husband.

This was my suggested itinerary below. Would you say do the beach mon or the amusement park in your experience? Leaning towards beach i think...
And also any ideas of good things to do the sat pm we arrive or Tues am before we leave? Thanks all.
Sun = steam train and boat trip inc exploring dartmouth in the day
Monday = woodlands amusement park? Or beach day?

Bigbury on Sea beach is a little to the west of salcombe. It has a fun tractor type thing you can ride on over to the island when the tide is in. Or easy walk when tide is out. And it is also a very nice sandy calm beach for children swimming.

Look at the beaches in the Salcombe estuary like North and South Sands (on the Salcombe side) and Mill Bay and Sunny Cove on the East Portlemouth side. They're all sandy and safer than the ones facing onto the English channel (Torcross is very steep and shingle). There's a passenger ferry that runs from Salcombe to the beach below East Portlemouth., otherwise its a long drive round via Kingsbridge. In Salcombe there's an old fashioned sweet shop called Cranchs. We go there every time we visit - and I've been visiting for 50 years !
