Lunch in London

We're taking ds1 to London for a birthday treat in December - eating at Bodeans in the evening, staying over and shopping in Selfridges, Carnaby St and Soho the next day. (Birthday money to spend and loves clothes and trainers, plus I want to see the Christmas lights)
We're former Londoners and know our way round pretty well but I'd really like to take him somewhere cool and different but not too pricy for lunch, and not too far off our shopping route. Last time we were down we went to the Seven Dials food market, which went down well.

If you’re there on a weekday, then definitely Street Food Union on Rupert Street in Soho. Otherwise, The Real Greek, Inamo or My Place Soho.

I love this award winning funky Australian brunch group - there are 4 in London - Scarlet in Soho and Ziggy would be on your route

Also if you are going in the next couple of months in Covent Garden Piazza (amazing lights - best and biggest Xmas tree in London) between 12 noon and 7pm - there will be a snow flurry ! How magical is that. Would also go to Somerset House ice rink to watch even if you can’t get tickets - stunning. Burlington and Piccadilly Arcades are magnificently lit up as is Bond St and St Christopher’s Place - Oxford St is the worst IMHO
