OH is going to be in Harrogate for three nights in January and I am wondering whether to accompany him. I will be alone till evening so need things to do . Also looking for a lovely hotel so I can chill out but reviews are generally a bit meh (Hotel du vin etc).
Not sure whether there is enough to do all weekend in winter alone. I have been for the day years ago and all I can remember is Betty’s tea room!

Harrogate has nice shops to mooch around, the Turkish Baths are great, & there's an Everyman Cinema. You could nip to Leeds or York on one of the days too. I'd happily spend 3 days there even in January

Chapel boutique hotel is lovely.

Ime none of the hotels in Harrogate are that great, they're all just ok. Definitely go to Betty's, it's just lovely.
Also go to Knaresborough and walk by the river.

Push the boat out and goto Rudding park. It’s incredible!

I had thought about going to York, that’s a good suggestion. Ruddings Park looks amazing but so expensive! The Turkish baths look fantastic.
I’ve found a nice guest house.

Didn’t know about the cinema either.
