How old are the kids? My daughter always loved the candle making factory in Beeston.

And the ice cream farm as well!

Ice Cream Farm at Tattenhall if your kids are small and you don't mind crowds. If bigger and crowd-hating, Snugburys near Nantwich is better.

Bewilderwood at Cholmondeley is the new kid on the activities block, suitable for under 12s. Fairytale-themed outdoor adventures place.

The Sick to Death exhibition in Chester is good fun and I think they're doing a Halloween special at the moment.

Blue Planet aquarium just up the M53 is expensive but good if it's chucking it down.

Beeston Castle is a good walk and great for playing knights in. Check out their bronze age roundhouse if you go.

Erddig near Wrexham is a NT house and worth a visit.

Bit further away but Hawkstone Park Follies is also good and has Halloween events this week, including a superb witch and a magician.

Carden Park does have onsite activities. I think ropes, archery, clay pigeon shooting and segways last time I went, possibly more. The pool is meant to be rather lovely too.

Just seen you love Thai food. Try Simply Thai in Whitchurch if there's nothing more local.

If you don't mind going a bit down market, there a fab Thai stall in the market in Chester.

YungDumbThrills · 27/10/2021 16:10

There's a great cafe called Chocks Away Diner at Hawarden airport which isn't too far. Highly recommend for kids, there's always planes and helicopters in and out on good days.

I love tasty food don't mind where it comes from 🥳 I'll look that one up too!

Cafe sounds cute the boys would love that
I've never been that far north before so I'm looking forward to it, I've been to Newcastle once and I've been to Shropshire but not Cheshire

We are also staying in the countryside in north wales to use the adventure park

North Wales is a Fab base, you could even drive to Blackpool but not at the weekend / half term, it is what it is but we should all go once
