A bit different in London

We're heading for a pre-Christmas weekend with the teenagers.
We're planning a tour of the Royal Albert Hall and will do at least one show.
We've done the Shard, the Thames jet boat thing and the Tower of London and we loved Smithfield market.
I'm hoping that by the last weekend of n November there'll be loads of Christmas lights but I'm looking for any alternative things to see and do that we might not have thought of.
We'll try and do the museums now they're older and did Tate modern last time
Tia

Carnaby Street always has great Christmas lights and lots of independent shops.

The Design Museum is interesting. It's at the east end of Kensington High Street/bottom of Holland Park. Lots of "old" (relatively!) stuff but also 3D printers and all that new-fangled technology. Their shop is cool too.

Mine love going around Spitalfields and Shoreditch. Lots of street art, vintage shops and cool places to eat.

the-line.org/ is a fab walk if your kids are walking types. It has public art along it, goes along loads of canals, takes in the cable car across the Thames and ends up at the Olympic (Queen Elizabeth Park). It's fab - really interesting.

Jack The Ripper tour?
The transport museum are restarting their tours of disused tube stations if that's your thing, quite pricey though www.ltmuseum.co.uk/hidden-london

Spitalfields is great for a wander. Denis Severs house is fascinating and well worth a visit.

Go and see "a Christmas Carol" at the old vic. It's is basically the most Christmassy thing, great for grownups and kids alike, completely magical and gorgeous www.oldvictheatre.com/availability/watch-at-the-theatre%2Fa-christmas-carol-5

Not sure what your tastes are but the Anchor and Hope is very near the old vic and absolutely fab, or Lupins or Bar Douro in Flatiron Square Smile

Royal Festival Hall complex always has something going on. Don't miss the singing lift on the East side entrance (key rises and sink as the lift goes up and down)

Great food indoors and in decent weather the outdoor food market has something for everyone.

Then wander along the south back. Admire the skaters and well everything.

We are going this weekend with our teenage boys. We are going to try a Hidden City game based on Sherlock Holmes. I think it's like an escape room but out in the wilds. Can let you know what it's like if you want, I suppose weather could be more of a factor for you later in the year. I also saw another thread where the ghost bus was recommended. I think this sounds great but it doesn't fit in with our times.
