Planning a friends hen do/ joint 40th birthday celebration. She wants to stay in the Newcastle area and there will be 12 maybe 13 of us. She was hoping for a nice cottage/converted barn kind of thing with a hot tub but within easy distance of Newcastle (or a nearby metro). Any recommendations. I've tried the usual air bnb etc and nothing suitable coming up.

All barns with hot tubs etc are going to be out in Northumberland, no where near Newcastle/the metro unfortunately.

Happy to travel up to 45mins if needed.

We have stayed here before. It has a hot tub. We loved it!

Newcastle is a bit short on barns, what with it being a city and all..... But pisstaking aside, as I'm sure you know that already, you could look around Alnwick or Morpeth which have a good rail connection to the toon. Also Hexham/Corbridge/Wylam way you might find something.

There are holiday lets down on the quayside for bigger party groups, but possibly not 12 all in one, if you want to be more central. It depends on your priorities? Cute cottage or city access?

Look at south causey inn. It’s about 20 minutes drive from Newcastle and 10 from metro centre.

I think you need to decide on one thi g ir the other.
Big, spacious properties dont generally come in easy distance of the city centre or public transport. So, would you rather the City access, and stay in a couple if flats or a hotel.
Or do you want to prioritise the large barn accomadation and hot tub, but loose the easy journey to the Toon?

Accommodation is the priority. We can easily book a mini bus to take us into Newcastle for lunch and cocktails.
I don't know the area very well and it's proving tricky trying to please everyone!
