What to do in and around Liverpool

We are taking our son to Liverpool for his birthday to see Anfield, but thinking of going for a few days in half term. I've never been to Liverpool so does anyone have any recommendations of what to do there for a family children aged 6,9,14 ( especially things if it's raining)

Also as it's half term was wondering if there is any where to visit near by to extend our stay.

We are coming from Bath and don't often go to that side of uk !

I went recently but not with kids. I would check and see what bars have music and allow kids, we were amazed how many great places for music there were. We did the Beatles tour and cavern club (not sure if kids are allowed) the war museum was interesting if they are into history (I took mine to places like that at those ages) there's a music museum I think

To eat we did find a huge pan Asian buffet which I'm guessing they would like

If you go to Crosby beach, I recommend a trip to Kraft Burger kraftburger.co.uk/

Really good burgers and craft beers. V family friendly and a short walk to the station for the train back into Liverpool. DC still talk about it.

For food: Keith's is easy and cheap, you can get a great Chinese on berry st, belzan on Smithdown for a treat

Moose Coffee to lush breakfasts. The World Museum has a great Planetarium and you can get tickets for that and the ferry combined. Love Liverpool, it's such a friendly city. Enjoy.

Had a weekend in Liverpool in 2019 and loved it! It was Christmas so we did the Christmas market. We went out to see Antony Gormley's Another Place, we went to the music museum which was reallly good and there were lots of good restaurants to choose from. Enjoy!

If you go to Crosby, take wellies or shoes that you can machine wash afterwards!
