I'm off to Cambridge for the weekend soon and wondered if anyone had any recommendations for what to see and do?

My DB lives near there. When I visited, they took me to the botanical gardens and the Fitzwilliam? museum.

Definitely have brunch/lunch/snack at Fitzbillies. The Chelsea Buns are world famous.
Take a punting tour. You could get yourself a hot-chocolate and take it on board. If it’s chilly, blankets are supplied to cosy up in. I’d recommend Scudamores, you can find them on Magdalene Street right by the bridge.
St John’s College truly is an amazing place to see in Cambridge. Christ’s College is also stunning. It’s one of the more central colleges so is fairly easy to get to no matter where you are in town. When you’re there, make sure to see the Great Gate on St. Andrew’s Street.
You must see inside Kings College Chapel. You can book onto a guided tour or if you’d prefer, you can wander around at your own pace. Tickets for adults are around £9
Market Square has lots of independent traders and craft stalls.
Take walking shoes because the walk across the Backs to Grantchester is gorgeous and there’s a lovely cafe there called the Orchard Tea Garden.
If you go by car, I’d also recommend driving out to Anglesey Abbey and Wicken Fen.

@Ricekrispie22 has put pretty much everything I would say. If you're looking for somewhere nice for dinner there are some lovely restaurants too. Mill road is interesting to walk down and has some great places to eat. It's like the world in one road. I particularly like the Bedouin.

Can anyone recommend a hotel or Airbnb in Cambridge for a family?

Gizmo98765 · 12/10/2021 18:50

@therealhoppityvoosh did you find anything? I am looking for the same with teens. Ideally at least a ks bed for us and two singles for the teen DC ideally in 2 rooms (would let the teens have their own room) or 1 very large room. Limited budget and need two nights.

We’re going to the travelodge Newmarket road in a couple of weeks, it looks fairly decent and walkable to the centre.
