Looking for some ideas for a couple of days travel within the UK.
Family of 4, teenage DD and 8yo DS.
We usually choose something active or outdoorsy but open to any ideas.
We are based in the NW so something within a reasonable drive while it's only a few days

I presume a PGL family holiday is no interest to you?

York for a city break. It’s especially fun at Halloween and I recommend a ghost walk even if you don’t believe in ghosts (I don’t but it’s still great) www.theoriginalghostwalkofyork.co.uk It’s totally suitable for an 8yo.
Also recommend the Chocolate Story, climbing the Minster, Jorvik Viking museum, walking the walls and the railway museum. My DS loved the Mallard simulator at the railway museum www.railwaymuseum.org.uk/whats-on/mallard-experience
