Bath in November

We are travelling to stay in Bath for an early Christmas with my parents at the end of November. It's my parents, myself and DP, DS(17) and DSD(15). I'm hoping that people might be able to share some suggestions for places to eat.

We are hoping to go for a nice meal on the Saturday night- Mum has asked for no 'big chain' restaurants and DS pretty much eats only Spag Bol, pizza, steak, burgers or roast. Italian not a great option though as my Dad can't eat a lot of garlic! I know! The rest of us are easy!

Then on Sunday I'd like to take everyone for a really nice brunch.

We are staying centrally so anywhere central that we could walk to is great.

I am looking on trip advisor too, but recommendations that can cater to our random 'needs' would be fabulous. Thank you!

Although DS might not be keen

Tell your son to stop being a dick

The Ivy Brasserie in Bath is lovely. Would be nice for brunch. It is a chain, but a very nice one.

The Botanist is nice but I think that might be a chain.

Most of my top recommendations in Bath probably wouldn't be suitable for your DS (though if you can convince him to try Yak Yeti Yak, it's amazing!).

The kitchen at the Abbey Hotel is nice, snd if you want a more maid back pub meal I like the Crystal Palace.

Try Sotto Sotto if you decide to go Italian, they're very accommodating about adapting things.

Sotto Sotto

The Marlborough Tavern

Firehouse Rotisserie!

Ivy is always a good bet. I also really like La Perla, a tapas bar for evening (it’s in a basement so cosy!)

Funnyfive · 20/09/2021 21:03

Graze is always good for a steak.

afromom · 20/09/2021 23:13

That's nice Theriband, he has multiple food allergies and related anxiety disorder when eating out. But I'll tell him he's just being a dick and to get over it! CAHMS didn't manage to help him solve his issues, but you may have just found the golden ticket 🤷🏻‍♀️

To everyone else who has commented useful suggestions, thank you, I'll check them out on trip advisor.

Comptoir & Cuisine looks amazing! I'm going to keep that on the list for a future trip. Probably wouldn't work for DS, but would be fab for DP and I at a later date.

The Ivy, Graze and Firehouse Rotisserie all look like great options thank you. I had missed out that DS also likes chicken, so the rotisserie one is good in that respect too.
Thank you so much for all of the suggestions, it's so hard with lots of different appetites to cater to!
I also need to plan a trip with DP too now to visit some of the other suggestions (sans kids!)
