Bradford-on-Avon

I’m staying in Bradford-on-Avon with a friend this weekend. We’re just there for a general catch up.

Are there any particular cafes, pubs, walks etc that we should try?

I’d love a walk along the river and a stop at a riverside pub.

I’ve booked The Lock Inn for Saturday night.

If you want to go a bit further you can eat at the George in Bathampton or the Bathampton Mill. Just keep going along the canal from Avoncliff towards Bath. I'd go for the mill - you can sit looking at the weir & toll bridge in the garden. Food is good for a nice pub lunch too. Have fun!

Bathampton is a fair walk from B-o-A! I love the Crossed Guns at Avoncliffe.

It is a bit of a yomp - Crossed Guns is probably the best option thinking about it!

Bathampton is a bit far unfortunately. I’m a keen walker but my friend isn’t.

We stayed in BoA this summer. It is a lovely little town. Because our accommodation was up Mount Everest a steep hill we didn't eat out in the evening, but had a lovely lunch at an Italian restaurant right by the river, but I can't remember the name. It is next to the bridge.

We walked along the canal and stopped at a riverside cafe for lunch. You might like to walk up the zigzag lanes up the hill past the old weavers cottages. It is utterly charming and very pretty.
