Tell me about Ladram Bay

We've booked a lodge at Ladram Bay this summer for crazy money. We could fly to Spain for 2 weeks, stay in a villa with a pool, and pay for Covid tests for the same money.

We are burnt out, tired, have kids with a wide range of ages and just want to get away. We were impulsive.

Ladram Bay is not very impressive at the pre-booking phase. It seems chaotic. They are messing around with our booking. I think I could ask for a refund given their level of messing us about.

Did you love Ladram Bay? I really want it to be great. But now I see that I was a bit stupid. I am not paying for good service. I am just paying because of demand.

I was looking for something in that area because there are lots of good days out, but vetoed Ladram in the end because we wanted a sandy beach and a really nice pub within walking distance. Sorry that doesn’t help much!

Have you been yet OP?

I went there at may half term, and have been there for the last couple of years. It was well organised for the swimming pool and there was a brand new playground. The downside is it’s a stony beach. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but went into exmouth, Sidmouth and Exeter for meals out.
The caravans we’ve stayed in have always been clean and well maintained.

The on-site shop has a reasonable selection of food and there is a fish and chips shop as well.
I hope you enjoyed it if you’ve been. The prices are high for the summer holidays but everywhere seems to be especially this year.
