Hi !
I'm off for a long weekend in Edinburgh at the end of July and am looking for recommendations for restaurants/ cafes and bars.

We are staying in the EH3 area so ideally within a few miles walking distance.

Would like to be able to hook some hidden gems rather than chain establishments.

Thanks x x

I dont have particular recommendations but as you are in the EH3 area walking to Stockbridge would throw up some small hidden gems I imagine!

Have a look at Shawna Explores or Kaki Blog on YouTube or Instagram both accounts post a lot of hidden gems . Edinburgh is amazing you will love it

EH3 covers the north and south of the city, which area are you staying in?

itsureis · 03/07/2021 20:49

Apologises, EH3 does cover a big area! We're staying at the Moxy in Fountainbridge

Ok, that’s not the easiest to Stockbridge then unless you like a good walk!
The Fountain pub is nice (apparently it didn’t used to be!)
There’s a load of the usual suspect chains at fountainbridge cinema complex.
Loud one for brunch.
Cargo at fountainbridge
First Coast on Dalry road for dinner (use the tunnel to get there)
Once you hit Lothian Road there’s no end of pubs and places to eat..

Oh, and you’ll probably need to book cos Queen Nicola has us in some form of lockdown measures until early august!

You have to book everything. We were there at the weekend. We were fortunate to have booked a few places but everywhere was turning people away. Lots of bars had queues outside.
