Stop offs on the M6

We are travelling from the Midlands up to Anglesey next weekend in our motor home so pretty much M6 all the way from J1. Are there any nice stop offs for a picnic lunch along the way? Have two DC and a young lab who will need a good run. Service stations are always a bit grim for a good walk. Thanks :-)

The Trentham Estate or Tatton Park

You could leave the M6 and go through Shropshire to pick up the A483 in to wales?
Llangollen is nice. Plenty of other routes too.
How old are the kids?
I would stop off at Manley Mere so the kids can go on the Adventure trail. Its about 20mins off the M56 so not much out of your way

If you're in a motorhome, will you be taking M6/M53/A55?

Marbury Country Park near Northwich (just before M6/M56) junction has lots of space for a picnic and for your dog to have a walk.

I was going to suggest Trentham Gardens as well, it's not to far from J15.

We usually stop off at Llangollen, but then we haven't got as far to go
