I’m taking my 10 year old daughter down to stay in London this weekend for a birthday treat and am desperately trying to find somewhere nice and affordable for an afternoon tea. Pleeeeease can anyone local recommend somewhere?? Thank you in advance!

The Delaunay or The English Rose theenglishrosecafe.co.uk/menu

The Wolseley or the the fashion inspired tea at The Berkeley; all the cakes are inspired by different designers . It’s lovely and very pretty and not too formal.

Woseley. Definitely my first choice. Beautiful building. Bustling and elegant. Delicious tea. Right next to green park. A good vote for taking children. I went with a toddler and was great. Also always take visiting friends.

Landmark is gorgeous too with pianist and palms. Feels really fancy. Less busy than woseley

The Chesterfield in Mayfair do a sweet shop afternoon tea. We went last year and it was great. Perfect for a child.

As others have said, Wolseley would be first choice.

I took my niece to the Waldorf once too, very reasonable and they had a live pianist when I went (they played happy birthday to her as she was leaving which was so lovely!). Very family friendly

Thanks for all the suggestions. I’ve ended up booking one at St Ermin’s hotel - it had a fantastic sounding children’s tea and added bonus of a beekeeping area on the roof! 🐝
