Paultons Park

We have booked to take my son to Paulton's Park next week for his birthday.. my husband and I were just debating whether to book a hotel nearby and make a weekend of it visiting some local places or do we spend the money and book Legoland where my son has also asked to go?

We live in the Midlands so it's around a 2hr 45min drive which is fine but I think a hotel might be nice after a day at the park.. my husband thinks spending £130 on a hotel for the night is a waste and we could take him to Legoland for that another week..

Has anyone done anything similar? Would walking around Paultons then driving home be too much?

Thanks in advance!

I’d find a £50 hotel as a compromise? A PremierInn or similar.

I have been looking and the prices are all around £100-£150 for the night.. we had planned to book a cheap premier inn but I've been searching all morning and can't seem to find anything 😔

Is there any days Inn type service station hotels along the way? These might be a cheap option.

We are going to paulton is a month and booked a hotel and two days pass which worked out better value. Maybe think about this if going to Legoland?

I live in south Derbyshire and it took over 4 hours to get back from Paultons Park last week - sat nav said 2.5 hours I think. I'd get the hotel, those roads can get really congested.

We stayed at a Premier Inn last August in Salisbury and it was really cheap. Can't quite remember but less than £40. We did Stonehenge and Salisbury one day then Paultons the next for my DD's 10t birthday. One day was enough at Paultons. Much less crowded than Legoland.

Thanks all.. I've found one for £70 so we're going to book that and find some local things to do for one of the days.. hopefully the weather is nice! ☺️
