We're off for a little break.

Does anyone have any recommendations for places to eat and nice bars / pubs?

The Hole in The Wall is probably the best pub.
The Oceanic or Riviera Terrace at Livermead Cliff hotel has amazing views.
Number 7 Fish Bistro if you like seafood.
Green Leaf Cafe does nice light lunches.
Small World Tapas does amazing food and the staff are always super.
The Elephant is very expensive but recommended if it’s a special occasion or if you’re big foodies.
The Boathouse bar and grill and The Shack are good too.

Ooh fantastic will look at all those.

We don't want a Michelin star quails egg with 4 asparagus tips for £50 just some good food

Not been for a few years, but No 7 Fish Bistro certainly used to be great food, real emphasis on local ingredients served fresh.
