York

Looking to spend a few nights in York en route to a family party further north. I looked at some hotels 2 nights ago, then again tonight and the price for 5 nights has gone up from £600 to £900! There are no Premier Inns available. I didn't want to book too early in case restrictions changed and had to go through all the faff of refunds.

Anyone know of any hidden gems, nice B and Bs that might be available. Thanks

We stayed at the Youth Hostel and had a private room for 4. The only downside was it didn't have an ensuite but it was cheap, good breakfast and the bathroom was literally opposite across the corridor. It had the advantage of having parking and was a nice walk along the river into the city centre, or a short bus ride back at the end of the day.

Hi, I know you said hotel but we stayed in a nice apartment, close to the Railway Museum, very reasonable. Mallard Flat York.

I have the same problem - plenty of spaces at 2 of the (several) premier inns in york when i was looking at options, 48hrs later and they are full. I was originally planning on dorset but prices are more than double what i was paying 2 summers ago!

We've booked a B and B that has very good reviews and isn't charging a fortune.
Travelodge wanted nearly £800 without breakfast 😡
