Hi we are spending half term in a friends cottage in Brecon ( COVID permitting !) We have been once before but would love some fresh ideas for things to do with two DC 10 and 7.

We will drive to the Gower if we are lucky with the weather.

Any other ideas please ?

Wow these are already great ideas thanks @Fivemoreminutes1 the only one we did last time was Llangorse.
Will do some research tonight.

Hay on Wye for canoeing if you fancy it. There's more walking than you could shake a stick at and Herefordshire isn't too far away, some great restaurants tucked away in villages like Pembridge.

Thanks @Mrsmorton . We will definitely be doing some walking as well - though the DC are a bit over it post lockdown ! We did a lovely waterfalls walk last time - not the well known one , a shorter easier version.

We actually don't live that far away from Herefordshire as we are Gloucestershire.

There is a new zip wire centre just outside Brecon which looks brilliant . www.zipworld.co.uk/location/tower

A few companies seem to be doing stand up paddle boarding on the canals.

Go for a burger at ‘hills’... amazing food!!! www.hillsbrecon.co.uk/

Waterfall walks are amazing.... walking behind sgwd-yr-eira is lush.

Great surf schools down on Caswell in Gower plus kids of lovely bars and food stalls on the front at mumbles.

There is also a new pop up food tent in singleton park which is really lovely if you are in Swansea. www.swanseabaypopup.co.uk/

Last one is really random but my kids love it! There is a milk/milkshake vending machine just off the M4 which is getting lots of attention toon at the moment! Random but fun! www.llaethbeynondairy.co.uk/

we hired a boat when we visited....is it the usk? and stopped off at a pub for lunch which was lovely. kids really enjoyed steering the boat and it was lovely just lazing and watching the views

Worth checking if the Centre for Alternative Technology is near enough for a visit for you.

Delayed reaction but yes it's The Usk @dreamingofsun that's a great reminder as that is something we looked at last time I think it was Dragonfly cruises.
Love your user name I am desperately praying we might get some sunshine but that's not really something to bank on in Wales.

@newnortherner111 thanks I hadn't heard of this place it looks very interesting but yes maybe a bit far I don't think it will be hard to fill a week staying local.

I can't believe how much I am looking forward to it !
