Going to book to go with 3 year old just wondering how long a visit usually takes

My DS loves Thomas Land. He is 5 now but been going since he was 2. We normally get there for around 10 and by 5pm Hes had enough. At age 2 he was done by about 3:00. We only live about 45 mins away so not worth booking the hotel. Depends what your travelling times are, well worth the day out though.
