Day trips for a 7yo

Now that a bit of normality is on the horizon, I’m thinking of day trips with DS.

We’re on the western edge of East Anglia. It needs to be by train but a short taxi journey at the end is fine.

He’s loved IMW Duxford, the Space Centre in Leicester, the National Railway Museum and the Tower of London.

Whipsnade Zoo. To get the train, you'll need to head for Luton or Hemel Hempstead, both about 10 miles from the zoo.
Mountfitchet Castle and The House on the Hill toy museum - the nearest station is Stansted Mountfitchet, which is right next to the castle- you can't miss it!
Audley End house and gardens, and the miniature railway - the nearest is Audley End, just over a mile away. A good footpath from outside the station runs along the road all the way to Audley End House.

Warwick Castle is a great day out. I think you can get a train near to it

Audley End House looks good.

We both love castles.

Thank you.
