Hi, do Airbnb stays fit in with government guidance about 'self contained accommodation'? Thanks

I think they do. Assuming own bathroom and kitchen, not shared with anyone else.

Airbnb with own front door would be covered.
A room in someone’s house with common areas and shared facilities wouldn’t be.

also only in England, it's 26th April for Scotland.

We've booked one from April 12 - one household so it's in the rules

You would imagine that the dates you search will inform the options you are offered

Anything that comes up via a search as available from 12th April will meet the criteria of being self contained (but you can read the property details to check that none of the property needs to be shared with the owner of other guests)

With bigger properties I wonder how owners will be expected to police whether bookings are genuinely 'single household' or not. Will it just be left to the honesty of the person who makes the booking?
