DH is 6 weeks into a 12 week recovery from surgery. He's feeling well enough to do "something" but not well enough for day long hikes, which is how we would usually spend Oct HT.

Who can recommend a nice hotel with short walks and somewhere lovely to sit and read in the afternoons? South Coast or East Anglia.

Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa. It has a lovely covered deck which has patio heaters if it’s chilly. There’s also the Jetty Restaurant (part of the hotel) & the Hideaway (part of the Spa). All of these look over the harbour area at Mudeford (which is so much prettier than it sounds!).

The Mariners hotel in Old Hunstanton has lovely views, the sun sets over the sea and it’s beautiful 😍
