Hi, am trying to arrange a husky dog experience for my daughter's 11th birthday in September. Have found somewhere in a place called Millom? Never heard of it but its about a 3 hour drive from where we live. Thinking of making a weekend of it, can anyone recommend anywhere nearby that would be a good place to stay?
Thanks

It’s right on the west side of Cumbria. Ravenglass might be close enough. We went there for the stunning Ravenglass to Eskdale railway and there seemed to be a good choice to places to stay and/or eat at. We had lunch at the Pennington Hotel which had plenty on the menu to please our DC, including pasta and sausages/mash etc... Also while we were in the area we went to Muncaster castle which the Dc enjoyed.

This part of the lakes is less busy but we feel its very nice and not too far.

Allow plenty of time to get there. Map timings are often wrong in Cumbria as it’s A roads are rarely dualled and in some places only a single lane.
Either head for Ulverston in the south or Ravenglass/Eskdale in the North for accommodation.
