I've had a quote for the following work on our 3 bedroom Edwardian end terrace house in London. It seems very high to me but admittedly I don't know a lot about building and decorating stuff. Can anyone comment on whether the costs seem reasonable, please? Thanks!

Those prices don’t seem that extortionate to me but I’m used to London rates.

Doesn’t look that extortionate to me either.

However, if you’d like to bring the cost down, you could find a local handyman to do some of those jobs. They tend to charge less + tend to be under the VAT threshold so work out cheaper.

Looks very reasonable to me.

And approach a carpet shop for a quote on the carpet and lino.

If you’ve got the time, you could also do some of the work yourself like the painting bit but you’d just need to read up on prepping the surfaces.

The carpet seems high - are you able to shop around a bit? The quotes for the other work look about right.

Thanks all

Looks reasonable but I'd check how many coats of floor varnish you get. Bedrooms you can get away with 2 but hallway you need twice that.
