Must do/recommendations Lytham St Anne's

We are having a family break there.

We are planning on St Anne's beach for a day, over to the Pleasure Beach for a day. Will book an Italian one night and wanting decent fish and chips one day. Anyone got any helpful tips

There’s a cheap and cheerful but very tasty chip shop very near The Pleasure Beach called Bentleys, I’d highly recommend it. Whelans in Lytham is one of the best for Fish and Chips in the LSA area. Notarianni Ice Cream is a short distance from both The Pleasure Beach and Bentleys. I’d do Pleasure Beach, Bentleys for Dinner then Notarianni for dessert. It’s completely outstanding Italian Family Secret Recipe Ice Cream and can’t really be beat.

I much prefer Lytham, my hometown, to St Annes. You can have a nice walk at Lytham Hall, Witch Wood or simply along the Green near the Windmill and a stroll through Lowther Gardens.

If you like Turkish/Mediterranean type food Anatolia Sea View is excellent at Salters Wharf in St Annes.

Fairhaven Lake is quite nice for young families as is The Pier in St Annes. You’ll be spoiled for choice with Italian food, I’ve not eaten anywhere bad. Imli in St Annes does excellent Indian Food. I quite like Spago in Lytham for Italian or Un Momento which is a bit of a hidden gem in St Annes.

Pembertons Farm and Dairy and the Farm Shop is well worth a visit if the Farm is open.

Stanley Park in Blackpool, The Model Village and The Zoo are all pretty good as well. The Park is much nicer than the ones in Lytham or St Annes. I’d avoid Ashton Gardens in St Annes, off the Square, later in the day as it’s quite bad for drug addicts hanging around.

In lytham I would go for a walk around Lytham hall (just this second home from doing this and it's fab with a lovely cafe too). Fairhaven lake is worth a visit too and the coast around there has just fully reopened last week after a big revamp. Italian wise Bosco on the Piazza in Lytham is a must!
@ILiveNearby has hit the nail on the head with your Pleasure Beach plan, Notarianni's is incredible! If you don't want to spend ££ on food in the the Pleasure beach you can leave during the day and go back in so we also walk 5 mins down the road to the Velvet Coaster, it's a Wetherspoons but quite a nice one as far as they go and it's a cheap and cheerful lunch .

I’d recommend the coastal walk. Start from the broad sands, north of the pier in St Annes, walk past the pier and the beach huts to a more shingled area. This route will take you to Fairhaven Lake, then Granny's Bay. A flat prom walk then takes you to Lytham Green and the Windmill.
If you want to head inland the Witch Wood and Lytham Hall offer lovely walks.

Ashton gardens is not full of drug addicts what rubbish!

Trust me @kenandbarbie, I live on Clifton Drive and own a rehabilitation centre for young people in the area. Pre 8am and from 7.30pm onwards there are frequent problems (ie most days) with both drug taking and drug dealing in Ashton Gardens. It’s been a problem for over 15 years. Many of the blocks of flats in the areas surrounding The Square on Clifton Drive are full of drug users.

Yeah I would also avoid Ashton Gardens...

Lol @icecreamclouds glad we are in agreement about recommendations! I’ll have to try Bosco, it’s one of those I haven’t got round to properly eating in. Just had coffee and a desert there one night but will try a full meal when I get a chance.

I live overlooking Ashton gardens and have not come across any problems. It's a much nicer park than lowther imo. Better for kids with the two playgrounds and feeding the ducks and stepping stones. Pavilion cafe very nice too. Great day to combine this with the pier and we all along past miniature railway etc.

Don’t know how you could have missed it to be honest @kenandbarbie, although it doesn’t happen during the middle of the day anymore and I think I’m right in saying until recently you lived in Ireland so maybe in time you’ll see for yourself. All the locals do tend to know this though, especially those in the vicinity of the flats on Clifton Drive. It happens around the public toilets usually. With more of a buzz around the cafe in recent years it’s not as bad as it was in the daytime but, as a child playing after school not that long ago, I had to go to hospital after falling of my rollerblades and into a hyperdermic needle in Ashton Gardens near those very stepping stones you mention.
