Salcombe recommendations

We're heading to the Salcombe area with our teens in a couple of days. Can anyone recommend places to go and things to do in the area?
We love beaches, might like some boat trips and new experiences such as kayaking or horse riding, but would probably also enjoy shopping, eating out and things like that.
We went to the Eden project a long time ago - it's about 1.5hr away - is it worth going or will we find plenty to do in Salcombe area?

Many thanks in advance 😊

Take the ferry across the estuary to East Portlemouth and do the 4 mile walk to Gara Rock beach. As you wind down the cliffs you’ll find a secluded cove with a soft sandy beach that’s perfect for sandcastles (or swimming if you’re brave!)
Blackpool Beach is a great spot for a swim. It’s also possible to hire kayaks and stand-up paddle boards.
You can catch a ferry from South Sands beach, but first you have to take the sea tractor into the sea to then get onto the boat, which is quite fun! The boat ride takes you into town onto Whitestrand where you will find the shops and eateries.
Salcombe Dairy ice cream shop is the best ice cream in the centre of town, with a fantastic variety of flavours including the famous Salcombe mud!
Go crabbing from Victoria Quay.

Thanks so much - that all sounds fantastic! Do you have any tips for where is best to park and best times to go? Thank you
