Short break - May half term

Any ideas / recommendations of where we could go for a short 2/3 night bread at May half term? 2 adults, 1 DC (8).

We live on the SW London / Surrey border and something no more than 2-3 hours drive would be ideal. We have spent quite a bit of time in the New Forest and Dorset. We have done a long weekend at Warwick Castle before, which was great but are looking for something new this year.

Most places offering holidays are going to be looking for full weeks at May half term not short breaks. you might have more luck if you do the weekend at the end starting on the 29th May. The easiest way to look is to go on facebook and join the huge number of facebook groups like holidays direct from the owners etc. just type in where you are looking for and a big list will come up. lets you put in the dates that you want and the location and then people who can offer that come on and reply. we have been to cardiff with the white water rafting and castle that was great fun as well as places like bath.

We're doing 2 nights in Peak District in Easter hols, staying in Premier Inn. Seems to be plenty to do in the area.

Cotswolds? But I agree, you will get problems finding a cottage or similar for less than a week.

I would look at a decent hotel/B&B with a family room or go cheap with Premier Inn/Travellodge.

We book caravan holidays through 2cholidays.co.uk. They have flexible start dates and a 2 night minimum stay (and 15off gets you 15 percent off). Mostly Norfolk / Suffolk areas. We love Norfolk for seal trips at Brancaster, deer safari at Snettisham, crabbing at Cromer and walks on Holkham Beach.
