London Trip

Hoping you might be able to help plan our trip please - we are going to London in early March with DSis and we looking for ideas of what to do whilst we are there. It's only for 2 nights.

We are staying near Oxford Circus and at the theatre on first night. We are also planning to go to St. Paul's as I've not been but where else would you go (think we would like to squeeze in probably one more place, maybe 2 at a push..)

We both like historical stuff but done Westminster, national portrait gallery and Tower of London. Any deals/bargains are obviously a bonus Wink

Also looking for recommendations for places to eat fairly near to Oxford Circus and nice (but not too posh as don't want to feel out of place!) bars/ pubs for a cocktail or G&T.

Thanks so much Smile

From St. Paul’s I would walk over the wobbly bridge and see either borough market or the globe. All can be done in one day, it’s only a 10 minute walk.

Look at st christophers place for a lovely little square to eat in near Oxford Circus it you can walk to Covent Garden very easily and there are hundreds of places to eat.

And my favourite pub off oxford street is the Phoenix but I don’t know if it’s thats suitable for kids. Awesome music quiz in there!

I also find a little boat trip down to Greenwich lovely. Whilst there, you can see the observatory and the prime meridian.

Sorry, more - afternoon tea in libertys is very cheap and only a short walk depending on how close you are staying to the station - there are a few little places in carnaby as well which is the best route to Covent Garden/soho. Bodeans/five guys/ping pong is over by carnaby too if you need quick eats. MeatLiquor is out of the back door of John Lewis and to the left, and you can do a tour of the BBC studio (by the circular church) as well but depends where on oxford street you are as it’s quite long.

I would do the monument and go in Tower bridge ( we got free entry with club card points) then boat to Greenwich and a go on the emirates cable car.

Hoppers on St Christopher's Place is nice for dinner. Also for food I would wander round Soho - so many great places. Get an aperol or expresso at Bar Italia on Frith Street.

And pubs are ten a penny in Soho. And don't worry about feeling out of place - London is a melting pot of people! Just follow your nose

Thank you so much or all your replies, some great ideas for me to look at! I love the sound of borough market and it sounds like we will have loads of food options. I didn't know you could actually go in tower bridge! Off to google now!
