We have had to cancel our holiday to Tenerife and are now staying in UK. Have decided Blackpool as has plenty to do for kids. Looking at hotels and theyr seems to be so many. I dont know what to go for, anyone have any recommendations were not fussy as long as clean, good location and a decent breakfast. Tia

I love it, but would never recommend it to anyone because it is dirty, rough and the sucker of all money Grin

You can get tickets that get you into several attractions and they are cheaper to buy impinge but at £46 each and £30 something for the kids it's not cheap. They don't include pleasure beach or the zoo either, both of which are good days out. In fact if I were to recommend doing anything it would be the zoo and the PB - the tower is pretty crap, Tussaud & sea life not worth the entry fee imo unless you have a DC who is super interested.

If you stayed at a haven park there are things to do onsite (again, you have to pay extra) and hideous loud kids entertainment at night if you like that kind of thing.

We enjoy the caravan over hotel because you can put the kids to bed and watch a movie in peace! It's also better for meals etc as you can do lots on the van saving on expensive chips in Blackpool Grin

I’ve had loads of fun there but it’s definitely very rough and run down these days

We stayed in the Big Blue a couple of years ago and it was lovely. You can pay for inclusive Pleasure Beach passes. Food was good, rooms nice and staff helpful. Our room was almost within touching distance of one of the rides which the kids found a novelty.
Blackpool itself - the seafront is quite nice. Kids like the trams, loved the Pleasure Beach, the tower and the indoor water park. We were there three days/two nights and didn’t have time to do the piers or the other attractions.
The only gripe was the lack of family friendly places to eat in the evenings which didn’t have stag/hen parties. On reflection we should perhaps have driven slightly out of town but we had room service one night and good old McDonald’s the other.

I love Blackpool. We were there on Saturday for the day. It was cold and windy but absolutely packed.
I wouldn't stay anywhere other than the big blue hotel, its clean and the staff and friendly.
We went to an exhibition at Norbreck Castle once, oh my god. The carpet was taped together. It was filthy, it was gross.

Can recommend Ravenscraig Holiday Flats on Barton Avenue. Dead central, couple of blocks from central pier. Been going for years and we love the relaxing in our own place doing what we want x
