I’m currently on holiday near Blackpool/ Preston with DH and DSs 7&2. Looking for a nice quiet beach for a walk on NY day and any other suggestions of things to do. DH has never been to Blackpool and I haven’t been since I was a child - what’s it like now and especially at this time of year? Any tips welcome!

Cold, wet and horrible
The season has ended so lots of it is shut. I wouldn’t waste my time to be honest.
Lytham St Anne’s is MUCH nicer.

Second Lytham. Then pop in to Lytham Hall for a wander round the grounds and something to eat in the cafe. Just down the road is a decent playpark if your DC still have some energy to run off.

Take a walk around fairhaven lake
It’s half way between Lytham and st annes
Plenty of parking and it’s right on the beach too and a super play area for the children
There is a cafe but not sure if it’s open on New Year’s Day
