Northumberland coast with dog

We have a new puppy and really fancy going away with him in the summer for a week in the UK. The Northumberland coastline looks amazing.

We would really like to be walking distance to a beach and a dog friendly pub. Can anyone recommend a suitable town? I have been searching for ages but just can't seem to choose between them. We are happy to drive to visit the tourist attractions but would like to be based somewhere with a few amenities.

Thanks

Warkworth is fab and really dog friendly. They even allowed our dog in the castle ruins, and provided treats! There are dog friendly pubs, hotel, a cafe and I think a gallery. Beautiful small town on the river and only a walk to the sea. If you want to self cater, this company is super dog friendly:

We stayed on a caravan site near Berwick upon tweed, you can get the train in to Edinburgh easily too

Bamburgh has a few dog friendly places and is lovely.

Amble has a few dog friendly pubs / eating places and holiday cottages. Plenty of amenities, harbour and beach, walking distance to Warkworth and a reasonable spot to explore the rest of Northumberland

Warkworth and the area around Alnmouth are close to the beach and have loads of dog friendly pubs and cafes. I would also recommend highly Coquet Cottages having stayed in their cottages many times. Really high standard of cottages and a lot of them are dog friendly.

We moved to the area permanently as we loved our visits so much and the dogs are delighted.

If you do go definitely visit “the Running Fox” the food is fantastic and the Shilbottle one is dog friendly. Also the Drift Cafe at Cresswell, food is also fantastic and beach is stunning.

We were there in September. It's a gorgeous place, very dog friendly.
We stayed in a beach cottage at Budle Bay. Have a look at Stablewood cottages, that's who we booked with.
