Hi I’ve been given a free weekend away for a few families to stay here end Sept with kids aged 11-14. I’m not a haven fan (been several before) but it’s free so we intend to just use it as a base

Anyone know if you can bbq or light fires on the beach nearby? Thinking of a late tea and swim and chill out down there?

Anywhere nearby you’d recommend for activities? Happy to use the onsite pool but I think they’re too old for all the other stuff and I don’t fancy hanging out in the evening entertainment. Idea is busy days with chilled nights - is there cinema nearby?

Kids are thrill seekers so castles and sight seeing are out 😂 thinking more go karting or similar? Watersports?

Thanks

We spend a lot of time in the surrounding area, do some research as long as you can drive lots nearby.
The main coast road is a bit run down but drive inland a mile and its a much nicer area.
This leaflet give a tour of the area showing the best bits, I know it might not be your cup of tea but it gives you an idea of what's about locally and if the roads are busy its a good short cut.

Its a Typical Haven site. But a few miles away its much better world, have a good root around this site, many of the routes pass the area.

I can't see who would be about to stop fires on the beach as its massive.
Some top tips
Must see the Funship just for the story

Dyserth falls, walk to the top take a torch for the small caves
Roman villa in Prestatyn Kims Cafe in the high street is excellent, local to you for Lidl, Aldi and M&S so very handy, Karls Chippy was the best local one but check.
Liverpool can be a top day out too, Chester isn't far.
Angel bay to see the seals. Llandudno is nice
Cinema in Prestatyn
Dry ski slope in Llandudno but toboggan run is better
Plenty of thrill type stuff around Snowdonia.
I hope you enjoy
