Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the best places to live in North Devon.
Currently living in Bristol. Wanted to move by the coast, somewhere that isn't rough, good schools, decent neighbours etc. I have a 2 year old daughter also so have to keep in mind an ideal place for her to grow up.
Any advice would be fabulous. Thank you in advance.

North Devon is very quiet and cut off from any cities- Exeter, Plymouth. While the beaches are beautiful I can't say I'd recommend it, I'm in East Devon and I'd recommend East it South much more, it has better schools and facilities.

Barnstaple area is nice, decent schools and some employment opportunities. Our relatives who live there do often pop up 'to civilisation' though, the teenagers miss having things like Nando's and Wagamamas Grin

North Devon is lovely if you like spending lots of time at the beach, however it is very cut off from ‘civilisation’ we’re hoping to move away soon as there just isn’t much to do aside from go for a walk. I’d recommend another part of Devon personally.

Also, the roads to north Devon are pretty awful - traffic along the N. Devon link road is often pretty horrendous and most other roads are B roads.

Thank you everyone. I will not be making the move to north Devon now. Seems to secluded for me
