Swanage - recommendations & advice

Were off to Swanage on Saturday. I've been years ago but with school on a Geog field trip I volunteered to support.

DS is 6 and DD 3, grandma coming too. I'm hoping for some advice if the weather isn't what we'd hoped for! We have rented a cottage which has a large garden. DS has ASD and likes to be active with large open spaces!

Thank you!! Smile

If the weather isn’t great, there’s indoor soft play at Putlake Adventure Farm. The farm is a great day out with small dc whatever the weather as there’s plenty to do inside and out, with animals to feed and pet, tractor rides, outdoor play equipment, pedal Go-Karts, picnic areas, trampolines, birds, a pet centre and tearooms.
The Swanage Steam Railway is good for rainy weather. It’s only six miles one way so it doesn’t take too long. It goes past the ruins of Corfe Castle. The Castle is worth visiting too. There are lots of events throughout the year including family fun days and battle Re-enactments. You can pick up a family guide, plus there's a children's quiz and trail. There are extra school holiday activities laid on too including family treasure trails, plus a permanent Wildlife Walk great for small kids around the grounds. There's a playground nearby in Corfe village too!
Poole has a good outdoor play area (Whitecliff) and soft play in The Ark.
