St Pancras 24th August

We booked train travel from Switzerland to St Pancras arriving on 24th August before Network Rail announced that Kings Cross will be closed.

We're going to get a taxi home. Can anyone tell me how busy St Pancras will be? I'm trying to decide whether to go straight from St Pancras or get picked up from a Northern line station.

St Pancras is in Camden where I don't think there are any parking restrictions on a Saturday so I would have thought you can just pick a street a couple of roads away and ask a taxi to meet you there.

Thank you raindropsonwindows. Do you think St Pancras itself will be very busy then?

Yes. Extra busy if KingsX closed. Camden parking is always untenable. Book a cab and arrange a collection point in advance.

How long is a piece of string??? Strange question, it's always busy around there and with a major station shut it will be worse but time of day matters. If you can get a tube then perhaps it's wise but if you are willing to sit in traffic taxis will take your business

I've got quotes for the taxi we usually use for airport runs for both St P and tube pick ups. I'm trying to decide which is best.
I fail to see why it's a strange question.

Because it is a "how long is a piece of string" question with just so many variables. What happens if your train is delayed? What happens if the random street you have told the taxi to meet you at doesn't have any free parking spaces at the appropriate time? What happens if a road is blocked or closed for some reason?
