Hoping some kind knowledgeable mumsnetters may be able to help us with this journey.
2 adults arriving Euston mid afternoon, our hotel is in Stratford then need to get to Greenwich in the evening and obviously return to hotel. Then return to Euston the next morning?

What is the best/most cost effective way of doing this journey? Tia Smile

Euston to Stratford: a few options but simplest is probably Victoria (blue) line to Highbury & Islington, change there for the overground train to Stratford.

Stratford to North Greenwich on jubilee (grey) line, depending where you need to get to in Greenwich though

Download the Citymapper app.

It'll tell you how to do it and the quickest/ shortest way.

Catalicious · 03/06/2019 22:18

I second downloading Citymapper.

It will tell you the quickest option at that specific moment - it factors in engineering work, delays etc. It's very clever.

redbedheadd · 03/06/2019 22:22

Came on to say download Citymapper - you're locations are very spread out and if there was maintenance work on one of the lines the app will tell you. Cost wise I doubt it will make a lot of difference as you will be getting the tube - would only be cheaper if you were getting buses

redbedheadd · 03/06/2019 22:22

Your locations*

Whereabouts in Greenwich as it makes a big difference.

Agree with suggestions as above, but I would add that there is a direct train from St Pancras to Stratford International, which might be more helpful to you if your hotel is in Westfield or around the Olympic park. First stop Stratford international.

You turn left out of Euston station onto Euston Road, walk for two or three minutes and the Harry Potter station is St Panc.

Northern line to London Bridge. Then jubilee to Stratford. Can take the jubilee to canary wharf and then DLR to Greenwich (don’t take DLR from Stratford takes ages).

Whichever way you go, tap in with your contactless card - it will work out the cheapest fare for the day automatically

longhaulstress · 03/06/2019 22:41

Thanks so much I've downloaded the citymapper app.
It's North Greenwich we need to get to citymapper says jubilee line is a direct route which is great.

You should be able to walk from Canary Wharf to North Greenwich (if there’s no building work) or take a boat to the O2.

sm40 · 03/06/2019 22:48

Citymapper!!
Are you off to see Hugh Jackman?

sm40 · 03/06/2019 22:49

You'll have to swim from Canary Wharf to North Greenwich!

The javelin line from St Pancras to Stratford International is great, very quiet and only takes 7 minutes.

If you are staying at the premier inn/travelodge on the high road as opposed to the hotel inside Westfield I'd recommend the DLR from Stratford international to Stratford High Road, saves the walk through the Stratford Centre which really isn't nice - I work in Stratford and avoid that place like the plague.

Jubilee line to North Greenwich is only three stops and really quick but may be crowded.

Usually recommend eating in Westfield instead of the O2. It has basically the same restaurants but no queues and you don't have to deal with event night menus which I've come across a few times at the O2.

Oooh I’m going on Thurs @sm40!
