Things to do in Tenby

First time mum going for a long weekend with my other half and 10 month old, slightly nervous as it's the first time going away from home.

We are staying in Tenby and looking for things to do/see. Willing to travel a few hours outside of Tenby. Can anyone recommend anything?

What sort of stuff were you thinking of/like doing?

Tenby itself is nice to spend a morning/afternoon pottering around. Couple of little art galleries and museums. You can have a look round the lifeboat station.

I love the lily pond walks at Bosherston.

@NicoAndTheNiners thanks for your reply! We like exploring new places, wondering around towns and beach walks. Would be good to take her to a wildlife park/farm/aquarium.

Well Folly Farm is considered the place to go for a farm type place, I haven't been in ten years mind so check reviews to make sure it hasn't gone downhill!

There's also Anna Ryder Richardson's place in .st Florence village....Manor House wildlife park. I've never been so not sure what it's like personally but have heard good things about it.

I used to live in st Florence village just outside Tenby but a long time ago.

We're just on our way home from a holiday in Tenby. Our DC are a bit older but we were able to occupy a few days just pottering around Tenby, exploring the town and spending time on the beaches. Folly farm was a lovely day out. We also went to blue lagoon waterpark, which was good for a rainy day activity.

Folly Farm is fab, and Tenby itself is lovely

Tenby is great, it's a lovely little town, but there are lots of attractions around about if you drive.

Folly farm is great, also there is manor wildlife park, a dinosaur park and Oakwood which is a theme park (I'm going there myself tomorrow),

There are things further afield too, like Kidwelly castle, there is a bug farm and chocolate factory which is further west.

Loads to do, a lovely place to go, I go quite often as it's is only an hour away from where I live.

Some great suggestions here! Thanks so much everyone.

Oakwood is very shabby and dated these days, it's more of a theme park so probably not the best for a 10 month old.
Tenby has a lovely beach and places to eat. By this time of year the boat trips over to Caldy Island should have restarted (I've taken a pushchair on the boat!) and you can't go wrong with Folly Farm or Anna's Welsh zoo. You'll have a lovely time.

Caldey Island, the lily pad pond place and Manobier Castle.

There’s lots in Tenby , or roundabout there
Folly Farm or Manor House Wildlife Park
The lifeboat station in Tenby is worth a look ,as is the house on the old lifeboat station ( was on Grand Designs )
Walk the length of South Beach
Ice cream in Feccis
Our favourite cafe is Cafe Vista ,
Saundersfoot is lovely too
Potter round Natberth
I love Amroth , very different to Tenby , but equally good

Folly Farm
Bosherston Lily Ponds
Rock pooling on the beach - just buy a net and a bucket
Boat trip - either to or round Candy
The lifeboat place is great

Generally just walking and playing on the beach - DS loved it when younger - and still does now.

Go to the Buccaneer for fish pie as it is delicious.

Folly farm is really good.
