Winchester/Andover

We'll be spending a long weekend in Hampshire later in the year, staying in a lovely cottage in Andover but hoping to explore Winchester and other surrounding areas.

Sadly, DH is not very outdoorsy and as a family we are keen on culture and history, hence the choice of Winchester to give the DC their Anglo-Saxon fix. We will have a car so can travel to Southampton or Portsmouth too. Does anyone have any suggestions, DC are 8, 11 and 13.

Historic dockyard is brilliant! I would choose either Mary Rose or The Victory rather than both in one trip.

The Southampton museum is meant to be good but can't remember the name!

Manor Farm museum near Southampton is good if it's not rainy.
Milestones museum in Basingstoke.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and then pop in to Gun Wharf close by for food, shopping and the Spinnaker tower (❤️ Pompey). Ooh, and if you have time nip over to the seafront for a stroll.
