Last year we hired a lovely cottage in Northumberland for a week and had an amazing time. We would like to hire a cottage again but somewhere else in UK. There are 3 of us me, dh and dd (12) we also have a dog.

We live in North West so anywhere within 4 hour drive would be great. Someone recommended Tenby which looks lovely but accommodation is ££££ in August which is when we were hoping to go.

Any suggestions?

Some lovely coast line in the NorthEast. Beautiful sandy beaches from Filey right up to Whitby, and lots of lovely walking if it is a bit colder, and so much to see in York if you wanted days away from the Beach or if you didn't get lucky with the weather.

Various Cottage sites

Then Anglesey is beautiful. Again, for non-beach days you are very close to wonderful walks in Snowdonia, or mountain biking, visits to slate mies, to a plethora of castles, or to the wonderful cave trampoline park or the longest zip wire in the world.

Dogs are allowed here gwynfrynfarm.co.uk with no extra charge.
There's an indoor shared swimming pool, games room and outside a large trampoline. It's well located for both the coast and Snowdonia.

Have a look at Book your holiday Direct with the owner on Facebook- lots of places on there.

North Pembrokeshire.
Smugglers Cottage at Aberbach is on my bucket list.
