Newcastle ?

Have not been and had a good hotel offer for Dec. Usually DH and DS10 and I go away for a Fri night/Saturday away in Dec - previous weekends have included Bath, York, Chester.

Do they have a Christmas market / light it up for Christmas? Will we find it a good place to explore ? thank you

There is a big Christmas market on at the moment, up until Christmas and the whole city is lit up. We also have a large Fenwicks which does a very impressive window display, a must see!

If you've never been you absolutely should, there is loads going on, masses of places to eat and drink and because it's a fairly small city everything is walkable. 100% recommend

It's a absolutely lovely place but bitterly cold at times
