Can anyone recommend an extremely chil-friendly restaurant in Bath which also serves decent food?

It's not finding the child-friendly restaurant that's the problem, it's finding the restuarant-friendly child I have trouble with!

Good luck!

What sort of food are you looking for? and how old are your kids?

Are you hoping to avoid chain places?

caterpiller · 21/06/2007 14:44

I have that prob too, Thomcat.

I would like to try to avoid chains, but knowing us we will end up in good old Pizza Express

there is a fab restaurant called the Firehouse - great food
been there pre baby but give them a call anyway(do you need a high chair???)

IntergalacticWalrus · 21/06/2007 14:48

Pizza express is quite small, so if you have buggies, it might be best to avaoid.

Chain waise, there's a couple of places in the Cinema complex, like Nandos and TGIs (but avaid TGIs because it crapola)

There are also a couple of restaurants in the Podium shiopping centre which are quite child frindly. DS1 like the UItalian restuarant there. They do highchairs etc and you can sit in the window and watch all the shoppers go by (you might even see me!")

Bath is difficult because a lot of the restaurants are quite small.

Oooh yeah, the Firhouse. It's behind Jollys at the back of Milsom street. The food is really good in there.

Hi IGW!!

Cafe Rouge in Bristol was quite friendly to DS who took rather a shine to the waitress and kept shouting after her...

FlossALump · 21/06/2007 14:51

Dur! There is a branch in bath.

cheechymunchy · 21/06/2007 14:51

Oh yes, Firehouse will be good. I live in Bristol and the one there's brilliant for children.
I've just got home from a trip to Bath this morning. On the train. With a toddler.
I'm exhausted...

mrsflowerpot · 21/06/2007 14:52

The Walrus and Carpenter - very good with kids (and my ds was not very restaurant friendly as a toddler) and fab food.
