Swimming holiday -does such a thing exist?

I would like to go away for a short break 4-5 nights for a fitness holiday with other adults and a focus in swimming daily with coaching. I am not a club swimmer, but do swim several times a week and technique is not dire. I can do freestyle and breaststroke. Would be keen to be taught back properly and turns (I can barely tumble), but no interest whatsoever in fly. I want to swim in a heated pool not wild or sea swimming, and would rather go UK than abroad. Don't mind mixed abilities as long as I'm not substantially worse than everyone else. Don't want 1-2-1 lessons. It would be nice if venue was relaxing hotel with gym/classes and decent food too!

Anyone heard of anything like this?

That would be amazing!

The outdoor swimming society has a Facebook group, if you asked this question there I'm sure you would receive some useful answers...

Check out SwimLab. Definitely a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Wizzwazzwas · 10/11/2018 22:15

Thanks I will check those out. swimlab looks mostly like lessons on London over the winter with trips abroad in summer? Do you have experience of them?

Search for "swim camp" - there seem to be plenty of options!

Bumper -would them know about pool based swimming? I have tried lakes and wetsuits (and unheated pools). Not my thing.

Club la Santa? Look in their events sections for swim camps.

Mount Kelly do swim camps for kids. Worth looking at if they do adult courses.

It's Tavistock way so beautiful part of the country!

Rubisco -I did. I found training in Spain for triathletes, camps aimed at club trips or club swimmers, and various adventure type hols, and open water swimming in Crete and Italy etc. But not much UK and pool based...

Sorry just saw that you’d prefer U.K.! Ignore my last post.

Open water? Have a look at Swim Trek, they are amazing, can't rate them highly enough.

I do swim with SwimLab in the open water sessions in the summer and at Hampton in the winter, but haven't been on the residential courses. Have a look at the Watergate Bay sessions - might be about what you are looking for?

The coach Salim is lovely and very encouraging.

Ooo the Watergate bay stuff looks about right for a couple of days, thank you!
