We are staying near Looe and have been to Looe beach which was a bit commercialised. Any recommendations for a nice child friendly beach that's not more than an hours drive would be welcome.

Doesn't have to be sandy .. ds likes a rock pool!

Thanks

Lactic Bay?
Lansallos beach?

Both to the west of Looe, sandy and out in the countryside.

Nearby you've got a few small beaches to choose from. Plaidy Beach is small but sandy and good for getting away from the crowds. However, be sure to check the tide times before visiting as most of the beach is reclaimed at high tide. Hannafore Beach is quite shingly but is great for rockpools. You can park for free on the road above the beach. Talland Bay is excellent for safe swimming. There is a car park, toilets, shop and the Talland Bay Beach café with tables practically on the beach.

Talland Bay for sure. If you don't mind a bit of a walk and no facilities then Lantivet, Lansallos and Lantic are all beautiful. All along south west coast path towards Fowey.

Anywhere along the Rame Head Peninsula. Seaton is an easy access one.
