Salcombe- what’s it like?

I’ve let my husband choose a 5 night break for us next May half term and he has chosen Salcombe. He grew up in Devon and loves Salcombe. I’ve never been and was wondering if there’s much to do as we have twin daughters (who will be 6 by then) and I’m not sure that they’ll want to spend 5 days on the Beach!

Salcombe's lovely. There's a number of lovely towns around there. There's boat trips on the river and a steam railway in easy reach of Salcombe. A bit further afield, you could also take your girls Letterboxing on Dartmoor (you try to find boxes people have hidden) and hunt for Dartmoor ponies.

Look for a great craft place on Island Street called Paper Bird Island. Perfect to keep the kids happy esp if it’s wet. The lady has a Facebook page of the same name too. At the end of that road is an amazing ice cream parlour! Perfect for you all.
